Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) is an 8-week course designed and demonstrated to prevent relapse in depression and break the negative thinking patterns that are common in mood disorders as well as anxiety disorders.
I have offered MBCT groups in my Castro Valley and Pleasanton offices three times a year - fall, winter, spring - since 2011. This is a skills-based group, with a specific curriculum that is scientifically validated and evidence-based, while rooted in Buddhist philosophy and meditative practices. Best suited for adults who are not acutely depressed.
