Explanation of the SBIRT Model for getting people with addiction into treatment quickly, review of how it's used in different settings, followed by a demonstration of a new database application developed for clinical social workers.

Describe the scope and prevalence of substance use in the U.S. at this time through the lens of Systems Theory.
Demonstrate understanding of the SBIRT Model by recognizing its 3 basic components.
Identify 3 barriers to substance abuse treatment in the U.S. at this time and at least one way to overcome these barriers.
