As a Social Worker, psychotherapist and organizational leader in addiction prevention, treatment and recovery, I am dedicated to serving individuals, couples and families who struggle with addiction and trauma. My years of experience spans boards of directors, program directorships, clinical supervision of staff, curriculum development and clinical work in school districts, community-based organizations, foster care systems, hospitals, colleges, prisons, and treatment programs nationwide. For many years, I proudly led The Children’s Place Program in Redwood City, CA and its Kids’ Kamp, the nation’s first for children from addicted families. In 2020, I gratefully received Constellation Behavioral Health’s Hope Tribute for my work with children and adolescents affected by substance use and mental health disorders in Northern California. I am a strong voice for recovery in San Francisco’s professional community and support colleagues through teaching, training and consultations across California and nationwide. I am the Founder and Director of The Addictions Institute San Francisco and maintain a psychotherapy practice.
