About Me

An experienced psychotherapist with over 20 years of clinical practice. I have teaching, supervisory, publication and presentation experience. I have taught health psychology at a university level and stress managment for the public at a psychiatric hospital. My carrer includes working in intensive outpatient settings for the treatment of anxiety, obsseive compulsive disorder (OCD), and eating disorders. My experience extends to working in a psychitric inpatient hospitals for a variety of mental health issues. In my private practice I offer pre-operative bariatric assessement and post operative psychotherapy, treatment for stress managment, anxiety, compulsive overeating, binge eating, codependency and life transitions including adjusting to retirement, college, and loss of a loved one. Diabetic mental health distress is another area I specialize in and define as a treatment to address emotional issues that lead to poor glycemic control and ultimately, less self-care. The apporaches I use are behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Short-term Psychodynamic Psychotherapies. Having lived in Brazil, Australia, England, Italy and America, I provide sensitivity and cultural awareness from both personal and professional experience.
