"Adler: The Original Positive Psychology"

Cost:           CSCSW members can earn 1.5 CE credits at no cost. Non-member LCSWs, LMFTs, and LPCCs may earn 1.5 CE credits for a nominal fee of $15. Free to audit. PCE#1.

Overview:
Ms. Ingber will present the basic tenets of Adlerian Psychology Theory; its many applications in individual and family counseling, parent education, and other interventions; and introduce Positive Discipline, an application of Adlerian theory for child guidance. Attendees will also participate in experiential activities which demonstrate the theory and learn a few Adlerian tools to be used in their work.

Goals and Objectives:

1. Participants will learn the basic tenets of Adlerian Psychology Theory.  

2. Participants will learn its many applications in individual and family counseling, parent education, and other interventions.  

3. Integrate the theory by participating in experiential activities which demonstrate the theory

 

About the Presenter:

LOIS INGBER is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Positive Discipline Lead Trainer.  She has 30 years experience providing services to children, youth, families and adults in clinic, school, hospital, social service and private practice settings. Lois uses POSITIVE DISCIPLINE and Adlerian Psychology in all of her work in counseling, providing parent education and as a trainer and consultant to schools and other professionals. She has been an administrator in social services and counseling programs, supervising staff and interns. Lois is a frequent presenter at conferences and workshops and is co-author with Jody McVittie, M.D. of “BRIDGES – Building Relationships for Improved Discipline, Academic Gains and Effective Schools - A Student-Centered Approach for Building Skills and Accountability.”  Lois believes that learning and using the skills of mutually respectful relationships is the key to personal and social harmony, and of mental health.
