Description:

We think of depression as treatment resistant when a patient does not get better on two or more medication trials. In such situations, what new ways of thinking about medications are possible and what are reasonable ways of combining medications and why? An emphasis will be placed on why these work and how the patient feels on these combinations. We will also cover ketamine as an option for treatment resistant depression. How does it work and what is the supporting data?

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Appreciate the possibility of combinations of medicines that can help depression more than a single agent. Gain insight on how a patient might feel on such combinations.
  2. Understand the basic mechanism of how Ketamine works and how it helps depression
  3. Have a general sense of the experience of patients undergoing ketamine treatment, how they feel, and how you can assist them during this period.

Workshop Logistics: After registering you will receive a link to the ZOOM WEBINAR.
