Facilitator: Michael J. ‘Mick’ Rogers, PhD, LCSW, MBA

Group Description: Clinical social workers and affiliates will undoubtedly confront ethical dilemmas at some point in their career, whether they are working at an agency or private practice setting. Ethical issues may arise around confidentiality, reporting requirements, termination, etc. Come meet one of CSCSW's Clinical Ethics Consultants, Michael J. ‘Mick’ Rogers, PhD, LCSW, MBA. Learn about commonly asked questions and how to request an ethics consultation for free as a member.  

About the Facilitator

Mick Rogers, PhD, LCSW, MBA has served CSCSW as a board member, a board president, the chair of the CEU committee and the chair of the ethics committee. He also has served on CSCSW’s Sac/Davis District CEU committee for decades prior to COVID. He currently serves as one of the ethics consultants.

Mick worked with children and their families in multidisciplinary Child Guidance clinics for 30 years and with college students in University Counseling & Psychiatric Services and in private practice for 10 years.

Mick earned his BSW from Cornell University, his MSW from UNC-Chapel Hill and his PhD from Smith College. His dissertation research was on TEACHING ADVOCACY TO SECOND YEAR MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK STUDENTS IN CLINICAL FIELD PLACEMENTS, and he published a peer reviewed article entitled “Ethical Dilemmas Facing Clinical Supervisors in Integrated Health Care Settings” in the Journal of Social Work Values & Ethics.
