This workshop invites new and experienced Social Workers interested in expanding their network to advance their knowledge of the field through authentic connection. Attendees will develop their own Professional Action Plan as well as learn and practice effective salary negotiation scripts.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this meeting, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify key contacts in the field to support career goals
  2. Research and defend salary expectations to maximize long-term financial achievement
  3. Communicate effectively and professionally with network contacts and potential employers

          About the Presenter:

          For the last few years, Natalia has presented to various audiences, from students to senior administration and stakeholders, with energetic and insightful information about identity, evidence-based practices, and career development. She has spoken at various conferences including the SDSU Leadership Summit, Texas Leadership Summit and the 2016 TACUSPA Conference. Currently, Natalia regularly develops, executes, and evaluates career development workshops for students and alumni at San Diego State University. Her MSSW degree with an emphasis on policy and administration practice has allowed her to build strong relationships with the SDSU School of Social Work faculty, staff, and students. Natalia’s ability to speak from experience and combine current best practices for a job search as a social worker has strengthened her reputation with these audiences. She is passionate about providing all social workers the tools and resources to be successful as they advance in their career.
