 ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Presenter: Andrew Susskind, LCSW, SEP, CGP

In this workshop, attendees will learn effective strategies for helping clients build emotional sobriety to strengthen their sexual sobriety. Sex addiction thrives on isolation, shame and secrecy, and to diminish the stigma, this presentation explores some of the latest approaches the mental health field has to offer such as Nervous System Regulation, Attachment and Positive Psychology. Emotional Sobriety offers clinicians a fresh lens to focus on clients still suffering from out of control sexual behaviors.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Define Emotional Sobriety.
  2. Assess regulation vs. dysregulation in clients identified with sex addiction.
  3. Identify three Emotional Sobriety skills.
  4. Distinguish between Sexual Sobriety and Emotional Sobriety.
