CAMFT Approved Continuing Education Provider 59450. This course meets the qualifications for 6 continuing education credits for MFTs, LPCCs, and/or LCSWs as required by the California Association of Marriage Family Therapists. Participants will receive an evaluation form as part of the sign in/out form and must complete form at the conclusion of course in order to receive CE.


Description: Supervisors must navigate being in a mentoring relationship, teaching clinical skills, regulatory laws and, often times, employment laws and relationships. This workshop covers the regulations for new and existing supervisors. If you are considering becoming a supervisor or just interested in learning the legal and ethical requirement that supervisors need to navigate, this workshop will address your questions and concerns.

Learning Objectives: Participants will:

  • Identify the three best practice guidelines for initiating a supervisory relationship.
  • Identify the five steps of Ethical Decision Making in a supervisory relationship.
  • Critique four components of a supervisory informed consent document.
  • Interpret four ethical principles for supervisory relationships

About the presenter: Curt Widhalm LMFT is in private practice in West LA and Encino, where he works with adolescents and is certified in EMDR. Curt is the co-host of The Modern Therapist’s Survival Guide podcast, and co-founder of the Therapy Reimagined Conference.
