The purpose of this presentation is to increase clinical social workers’ knowledge about the common causes and symptoms of dementia, describe key family-centered care planning needs and interventions, and increase capacity for identifying and addressing the needs of family care partners.
About the Presenters:
Amy Abrams, MSW/MPH, serves as the Education Director for Alzheimer’s San Diego, providing essential dementia education and training for families, caregivers, individuals with Alzheimer’s or related dementia, professionals, and other interested members of the community.
Marcie Hanna, LCSW, has served older adults, foster youth, and people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities in San Diego for 23 years. Her experience includes and is not limited to Geriatric Care Management, Adult Protective Services, Intergenerational Program Development and Management, Elder Law, and the many facets of her current role at Alzheimer’s San Diego
THE SAN DIEGO DISTRICT PROGRAMS WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE FIRST SATURDAY MORNING OF EACH MONTH, FROM 10-12 NOON, AT OUR PRESENT JFS LOCATION.
CEUs: 1.5 CEU hours for LCSW’.s, MFT’, and LPC’s. Note: Registered Associate Clinical Social Workers -- as long as your supervisor approves participation, you can now use CEs toward LCSW hours
The San Diego Chapter of CSCSW holds its meetings on the first Saturday of the month from September through June from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Jewish Family Service building, 8788 Balboa Avenue in Kearny Mesa. Meetings begin with a half hour of mingling, networking, and community building, followed by our program. CEU programs meet the requirements for 1.5 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs, LPCCs, and LCSWs as specified by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences; CEUs are FREE to our members.
