The California Society for Clinical Social Work (CSCSW) is a professional organization focused on the needs of clinical social workers in California. We are starting a members-only book club where we will continue to meet on a regular basis to discuss books related to social justice issues.

The book that we will discuss in the upcoming meeting will be The Bully Society: School Shootings and the Crisis of Bullying in America’s Schools by Jessie Klein (https://www.amazon.com/Bully-Society-Shootings-Bullying-Intersections/dp/1479860948). The USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work's article "10 Books Every Social Worker Should Read" provides the following synopsis for the book, "Violence in schools is often perceived as acting 'aggressive' and 'masculine' in an effort to be popular. Klein explores the underlying causes of anxiety, eating disorders, suicide, depression, truancy and substance abuse. Please join us in starting the Social Justice Book Club and discussing books about social justice issues.
