Description: Direct from the source, join us to learn all you need to know to make the licensing process as easy as possible. Kim Madsen, Executive Officer of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), will present an overview of the licensing process, including registering as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW), accruing hours for licensure, and taking the exams. LCSWs will also provide their advice for successfully navigating the licensure process, including addressing common issues licensees face, sharing strategies on taking the exams and forming strong supervisory relationship as you accrue your hours for licensure.

BBS Presenter: Kim Madsen was appointed as the BBS Executive Officer on January 25, 2010. Ms. Madsen previously served as the Board’s Assistant Executive Officer. Prior to her appointment as Executive Officer, Ms. Madsen served as the Enforcement Manager for the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology and as the Criminal Background Unit Manager for the Department of Public Health. In 2005 and 2006, Ms. Madsen served as the Board of Behavioral Sciences Program Manager providing oversight to the licensing, examination, and administrative units.
