Presenter: Rene Reiss, LMFT

Description:

This presentation will focus on the important work that clients need when safety has been established. It will help therapists expand their understanding of the wants and needs of persons recovering from a suicidal episode and how to use their suicidal experience for emotional, cognitive and behavioral growth.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Define “Recovery and Growth” work.
  2. Describe the difference between “safety for now” and “recovery and growth.”
  3. Describe how suicide experiences provide an opportunity for “recovery and growth” work.

Rene Reis, MFT has a private practice treating individuals and families. She conducts Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Post-vention trainings as a Certified Master Trainer through Living Works Education.
