CALIFORNIA SOCIETY FOR CLINICAL SOCIAL WORK

GREATER LOS ANGELES DISTRICT  Presents

"From Now On: Seven Keys to Purposeful Recovery"

Presented By: Andrew Susskind, LCSW

Overview:

Addiction professionals have long been mystified by the revolving door of relapse. Recovery Coaching offers a future-focused, action-oriented approach helping clients move forward with intention. While honoring the time-tested methods of therapy and the twelve steps, this unconventional process fosters hope and personal accountability. As a result, clients develop more purpose and direction in recovery from addictions.

Seven Keys to Purposeful Recovery evolved from Positive Psychology, life coaching  and the wisdom of the twelve steps and include values-based goal-setting, visioning and a new spin on forgiveness. Participants will learn how to integrate these tools into their work as a result of interactive discussion and experiential exercises.

Goals/objectives:

1) As a result of this course, participants will be able to distinguish between coaching, psychotherapy and sponsorship.

2) As a result of this course, participants will be able to utilize the Life Focus Satisfaction Scale to help clients establish priorities.

3) As a result of this course, participants will be able to identify and utilize Positive Psychology tools such as forgiveness and gratitude.
