Overview:
Polyamory? Swinging? Consensual non-monogamy? More and more we encounter stories about people engaged in these kinds of open relationships in the media and increasingly in our therapy practices. In this training you will gain an understanding of what these terms mean and you will also learn about the clinical issues that clients in open relationships bring to therapy.
Goals/ Objectives:
After the session participants will be able to
1) As a result of this workshop participants will be able to describe the different kinds of open relationships that exist.
2) As a result of this workshop participants will be able to describe the clinical issues that clients in open relationships bring to therapy.
3) As a result of this workshop participants will be able to know where to find additional resources on this topic.
About the Presenter:
This course meets the qualifications for 1.5 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs, LPCCs, and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Members earn credits at no cost. Credits for non-members are $15.00 per meeting. All are welcome to attend at no charge (no CEU certificate). MSW students are especially encouraged to attend.
